Zephyr Animation Greenlights Mogu & Perol Co-Pro

Madgic Group’s Zephyr Animation has greenlit Mogu & Perol, to be co-produced with dwarf studios in Japan, following deals with France Télévisions and Taiwanese free-to-air channel Hakka TV.

The series will be produced in 3D CG animation at 2 Minutes Studio in France, along with Aries Creative, an animation studio based in Taiwan. Production will start this month in France, and the series is expected to be fully delivered by October 2027.

Mogu is a big, gentle, timid monster who loves nature; Perol is a small, charming, explosive creature with a passion for cuddles and adventure. Together, they invite the audience to share in the joy, color and creativity of their day-to-day life on the marvelous little island of Mori Mori.

“We are incredibly excited to start production on Mogu & Perol, our co-production between France, Japan and Taiwan and Zephyr’s first production since we joined forces with Madgic,” said David Sauerwein, executive producer and co-founder of Zephyr Animation. “It’s such a delight to be able to develop dwarf studios’ original IP and to bring it to international audiences. We’re also delighted to be working with our sister company, 2 Minutes, in a great example of the synergy and beneficial dynamic of the companies across the Madgic Group. We look forward to working with our partners to bring this heartfelt story of friendship and discovery to life and look forward to children in France, Taiwan and globally being able to share in its magic.”

“We are beyond thrilled that Mogu & Perol, two wonderful friends born in our studio, have reached the starting line for their own animation series production,” said Yuriko Okada, executive producer at dwarf studios. “We are deeply grateful to our trusted partner, Zephyr Animation, for their patient dedication in building the foundation for this project. We look forward to working closely with our French and Taiwanese partners to deliver a truly attractive and heartfelt series for children and families around the world.”
