Video Interview: Lulu Is a Rhinoceros’ Creators, Cast & Music Producer

Father-and-daughter duo Jason and Allison Flom published Lulu Is a Rhinoceros in 2018 in the hopes of teaching kids lessons on kindness, acceptance and embracing your true self through a story in which Lulu, who everyone thinks is a bulldog, sees herself as a rhinoceros in the mirror. Now, they’ve brought those lessons to the screen with a special on Apple TV+.

Starring the voices of Auli’i Cravalho (Moana), Alex Newell (Glee), Dulé Hill (Psych), Paul Rust (Love) and Utkarsh Ambudkar (Ghosts), the special features a host of original songs from music producer Leland to drive home its messages of self-acceptance and openness.

The Floms, Leland and the cast sat down with TV Kids Weekly to talk about the themes incorporated in the special, the power of music in imparting lessons and more.
