Channel 5 Orders Raft of New Content for Milkshake!

Channel 5 has commissioned a new title and ordered series renewals for Milkshake!, its preschool programming block.

Brand-new commission Milkshake! Monkey’s Amazing Adventures, which will be produced in-house, will follow the titular monkey as he travels around the U.K. and learns about its history and geography. The series is slated to air on the block starting in October.

Channel 5 has recommissioned for Milkshake! the Nevision-produced Floogals for a third season, the Illuminated Films-produced Little Princess for a fifth season and the Entertainment One-produced Peppa Pig for a sixth season. Peppa Pig‘s sixth season has already begun airing on Milkshake!, with new episodes rolling out later this year, while Floogals and Little Princess will both air on the block this autumn. Milkshake! has acquired a second season of Pirata & Capitano and two more seasons of Thomas & Friends as well.

Further, Channel 5 is set to develop six potential projects for the Young Audiences Content Fund (YACF), with a focus on live-action drama, factual and high-end animation.
