DHX Media Ups Stephanie Betts to EVP of Content

DHX Media has promoted Stephanie Betts to the role of executive VP of content and hired Todd Brian to fill the newly created position of director of development for animation.

With her new appointment, Betts will report to DHX Media President Josh Scherba and be responsible for the development and production of the company’s slate of original animated content. Throughout her tenure at DHX, she has spearheaded such shows as Strawberry ShortcakeCloudy with a Chance of MeatballsInspector GadgetTeletubbiesPolly Pocket and Chip and Potato in addition to new Peanuts content. Prior to joining DHX Media, Betts served as a producer and development executive at Breakthrough Films and Television. She also previously worked at Atomic Cartoons.

Brian, who will report to Betts, joins DHX Media after holding various senior creative positions on both animation and live-action productions. At Corus Entertainment, he served as a production executive for Corus Kids, and was a development executive for kids and family at Toronto-based marblemedia. He was also previously a senior writer at the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC).
