Portugal’s RTP 1 has ordered a local adaptation of ITV Studios’ The Voice Generations, a spin-off of the hit singing competition The Voice.

The spin-off invites groups of singers and musicians from different generations to perform together. Produced by Shine Iberia, the Portuguese iteration’s auditions aired on August 7, with the live show set to debut on August 14.

Portugal’s adaptation follows successful launches in Lithuania and Australia. In Australia specifically, both The Voice Australia and The Voice Generations air on Seven Network and are two of its top ten biggest shows for 2022 so far.

The original format (The Voice) has been adapted in 72 territories. The Voice franchise—featuring The Voice, The Voice Kids, The Voice Senior, The Voice Teens, The Voice All Stars, The Voice Rap and The Voice Generations—has generated a total of 144 adaptations across the globe.
