All3Media International has secured a deal for a new local adaptation of the psychological adventure format The Traitors in Spain, where it will stream on HBO Max.
Originally developed by idtv and All3Media for RTL4 in the Netherlands, The Traitors has already been commissioned in the U.K., the U.S., Norway, France, Belgium and Australia. The eight-part series in Spain is being produced by Gestmusic (Banijay Iberia) for HBO Max and will play locally as Traitors España.
The Spanish adaptation has wrapped filming in a castle in Spain featuring 18 celebrity contestants and is hosted by actor and director Sergio Peris-Mencheta. The celebrities’ mission is to complete a series of challenges with the objective of earning a cash prize. The catch is that three of them are chosen to be traitors and must devise a plan to steal the prize instead of sharing it among the rest.
All3Media International is distributing the format worldwide and will sell the tape version of both the U.K., U.S. and Australian adaptations.
