Caracol Television is partnering with the Bulgarian television network Nova for a local version of the entertainment format The Challenge.

This new adaptation of The Challenge will take place on exotic Bulgarian beaches, where participants will be split up into three teams and compete for more than $100,000 in prizes. The Caracol format, which has led Colombian prime time for 16 years, has been sold to more than 45 countries in the world, including the U.S., Mexico, Russia, Romania and Greece.

Lisette Osorio, VP of international sales at Caracol Television, said: “The arrival of The Challenge to Bulgaria reflects Caracol Television’s efforts in creating formats that transcend borders and use a universal language. We are pleased to be working hand-in-hand with Nova in the adaptation of our format, that we know will be nicely welcomed and will dynamize its adaptation in other markets of the world.”
