The Story Lab has signed a licensing deal in France for the dating reality show format Game of Clones.

Created by youngest Media, Games of Clones sees individuals use avatar technology to design their perfect mate. Potential partners are then identified and the singletons move into a luxury home to spend time with the “clones” and decide who, if any, is the right match for them. The format first launched in prime time on E4 in the U.K. It has now been sold to NRJ12 in France, where Ah! Production is working on a local version that is slated for broadcast in the fall.

Julien Lefèvre, the head of The Story Lab France, commented: “We are delighted to have secured a deal with NRJ12 for a truly stand-out format. Game of Clones is proving to be a hit around the world as channels see the potential for the format to truly engage with the millennial audience.”

David Flynn, co-founder of youngest Media, noted: “We’re delighted that NRJ12 are taking Game of Clones to a French audience. We expect the clones our French singletons create to be slightly better dressed and we look forward to their reaction when they meet all of them.”

Stéphane Joffre-Roméas, the head of TV at NRJ Group, added: “The acquisition of this format is part of our ambition to offer innovative programming. Game of Clones is an original experiment to find love beyond appearances.”
