Scripted Format Deals for Red Arrow Studios International

Calt Story remaking Lice Mother for M6 is among a raft of new scripted format deals secured by Red Arrow Studios International in Europe.

Calt Story is adapting the original Dutch format as a short-form series, consisting of 200 episodes that will be shot beginning this summer. Originated by BING Film&TV for AvroTros/NPO3, the comedy is set in a primary school.

Red Arrow Studios International has also clinched a deal for Danni Lowinski to be remade by TFP for Telewizja Polsat. The German drama, first made for SAT.1, has already been adapted in Russia, Ukraine, the Netherlands and Belgium and is in development at CBS.

Circus in Turkey, in collaboration with Fabrika Yapim, has wrapped production on a 10×15-minute adaptation of Match, which is also in production for public broadcaster RTBF and cable platform BeTV in French-speaking Belgium. Sputnik Productions has optioned the comedy format, which originated in Norway, for the Netherlands and Belgium. It has also been optioned in Spain by Boomerang TV.

Red Arrow Studios International also continues to fare well with the crime procedural Einstein, which has been commissioned for an adaptation in the Czech Republic by Prima Group.

Tim Gerhartz, president and managing director at Red Arrow Studios International, commented, “With the demand for local-language content continuing to boom across Europe, we’re seeing domestic European broadcasters look to scripted formats with a successful track record as a way to boost their offering in this space. Our robust and varied slate of comedy and drama scripted formats meet the needs of broadcasters across the region, and we look forward to seeing them put their own stamp on these titles.”
