TEL AVIV: Riot Creative, part of Leftfield Entertainment, has picked up Armoza Formats’ docu-reality series Couch Diaries for adaptation in the U.S. market.

Couch Diaries, developed by Artza Productions, follows a handful of participants who are at a crossroads in their lives and places them on strangers’ sofas in faraway countries for ten nights. By taking the participants out of their comfort zones, the show challenges them to rethink everything they thought they knew about themselves and forces them to embark on deeply personal journeys. This is the first deal between the two firms.

Avi Armoza, the CEO of Armoza Formats, stated: “We are thrilled to be working with Riot Creative and Leftfield Entertainment on this exciting project and to be bringing Couch Diaries to the U.S. market. Whether with celebrities or regular people, this innovative format has proven to be a hit with audiences.”

Stephanie Angelides, the president of Riot Creative, added: “Couch Diaries presents such an innovative and creative premise, both helping people examine their lives in ways they would never expect, while also finding common ground with complete strangers. It’s a social experiment of sorts that illuminates unique human interaction, and we think it has tremendous possibility for success in the U.S.”
