Passion Sends Robot Wars Format to Asia

SINGAPORE: Passion Distribution has inked a deal with GroupM Entertainment (GME) APAC that will see a local version of the competition format Robot Wars air in Asia.

Robot Wars looks on as amateur robot designers battle their creations to the death in a bulletproof arena. Passion’s pact with GME will bring the format to Southeast Asian broadcasters. The show, which airs on BBC in the U.K., was recently picked up in CEE, CIS, Africa, New Zealand, Germany and Iran.

A statement from GME said: “We are very excited to be working with Passion Distribution and have no doubt that Robot Wars will be a huge success in Asia.”

Nick Tanner, the senior sales manager for Passion Distribution, added: “Robot Wars is an exciting and distinctive television brand. We’re really excited to be launching the show in Asia with GroupM Entertainment.”
