Mitre Studios has promoted Gemma Nightingale to head of entertainment.

In her new role, Nightingale will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of Mitre Studios’ entertainment shows on television. With projects currently in production, Nightingale will also play a key role in Mitre Studios’ branded entertainment content, acting as an executive producer across all branded output.

Nightingale has worked on a host of hit prime-time entertainment shows, including I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, The Royal Variety Performance, Limitless Win and Stars In Their Eyes. She has also delivered multiplatform branded content such as Santander ‘Bank of AntanDec’ and TUI ‘Happiness Ambassadors’ campaigns.

Mitre Studios’ managing director, Ed Sleeman, said: “Gemma has played key roles on all of Ant and Dec’s Entertainment shows for over a decade, and she also has a brilliant development mind. There is, therefore, no one better placed to lead this department at Mitre Studios, so I’m delighted to be promoting Gemma to head of entertainment.”

Nightingale said: “I couldn’t be more thrilled to step into my new role as head of entertainment at Mitre Studios, especially at such an exciting time for the company. The industry continues to evolve at an incredible pace, but the one thing I believe should never be underestimated is the value Entertainment brings to people’s lives. Ant and Dec’s passion to originate and produce vibrant, joyful, ambitious content makes me hugely excited to lead a department that has this vision at its very heart, and I can’t wait to continue the adventure!”
