Jack Shillaker has been tapped as Mitre Studios’ creative director of television.

Shillaker is set to take up his role this month. The BAFTA-winning executive producer will lead the creation of a slate of new formats and act as executive producer across Mitre Studios’ broadcast output.

The move reflects the ambition of Mitre’s founders, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly (television presenting duo Ant and Dec), to expand the studio.

“I am hugely excited about joining the team at Mitre Studios,” said Shillaker. “For as long as I have watched television, Ant and Dec have represented a gold standard in entertainment, and I am honored to be able to help them bring their vision of producing creatively ambitious and distinctive ideas to life. I can’t wait to get started.”

Ed Sleeman, managing director for Mitre, said: “I am delighted to welcome BAFTA award-winning executive producer Jack Shillaker to Mitre Studios as our creative director of television. This hire underscores our commitment to developing and wholly producing ambitious, high-quality global formats for both broadcasters and streamers alike. We eagerly anticipate the impactful contributions he will make to the growth of Mitre Studios.”
