Keshet International’s Masters of Dance Commissioned for Second Season

Ahead of MIPCOM, Keshet International’s flagship shiny-floor entertainment show Masters of Dance has received a second-season commission from Keshet Broadcasting.

The news comes among reports of buyer interest in the U.S. following the show’s strong ratings over the summer season in Israel, where it garnered an average share of 35 percent. The show increased its slot rating and share by 20 percent and 14 percent, respectively and amassed online views of 3.7 million (equal to 74 percent of all smartphone users in the country) on the broadcaster’s MAKO web portal. It competed head-to-head with the eighth season of the established franchise Survivor and its average share was 24-percent higher than the last show to air in the country in the dance genre, Dancing with the Stars (2012).

The studio-based format sees four renowned professional dance masters—established dancers, creators or choreographers whose talent and expertise has earned international acclaim—put everything on the line as they each take on the challenge of forming a new company of dancers to compete in a series of head-to-head battles.
