ITV Studios and CJ E&M have entered into a co-development deal to create a new entertainment format for the global market.

The creative collaboration will see ITV Studios and CJ E&M produce the new series in their respective territories. CJ E&M will manage the distribution of the new format across Asia, with ITV Studios Global Entertainment representing the show across all other markets.

Mike Beale, the executive VP of global development and formats for ITV Studios, said: “This is the natural next step for our relationship with CJ E&M. By bringing together some of the creative minds and distribution strength from each of our businesses we’re making the very best of our respective expertise. We think this will lead to something really interesting and new for broadcasters all over the world. In fact, we’ve made significant progress and expect to launch the fruits of our creative collaboration to the international market at MIPCOM.”

Chul-Yeon Kim, the senior VP of global contents strategy for CJ E&M, commented: “We are thrilled to develop a whole new creative format for a global audience in collaboration with ITV Studios. The concept of the upcoming format will be fresh and venturous, something not tried before that will create an amazing experience and excite all viewers. We are looking forward to its launch and CJ E&M’s global expansion in making new footprints.”
