Australia’s Got Talent is set to air on Channel Seven in the new year, marking the format’s return to Australia and to the network it made its debut on in 2007.

In 2019, Australia’s Got Talent will be “supercharged event-scale” entertainment, as a variety of acts from all walks of life are performed before a panel of celebrity judges and a live theater audience. Australia’s Got Talent is a Fremantle production for Channel Seven. The Got Talent format, co-owned by SYCO Entertainment and Fremantle, was created by Simon Cowell.

Angus Ross, Channel Seven’s director of network programming, said: “Family-friendly variety shows have always played an important role in Seven’s schedule and the timing feels right for the biggest of them all–AGT–to return home to Seven in 2019.”

Chris Oliver-Taylor, CEO of Fremantle in the Asia Pacific, added: “The Got Talent format is a global phenomenon with audiences and its production values are without peer. We are thrilled to be partnering with Seven to bring a local version of this scale to Australian audiences. Our passionate creative team will deliver a bold and captivating series everyone will enjoy.”

Cowell commented: “I am absolutely thrilled because I have always known that Australia’s Got Talent.”
