FremantleMedia Ties Up with Kapow

FremantleMedia has entered into a new partnership with Kapow, which will gain exclusive production rights to and represent FremantleMedia’s catalog of entertainment formats in Argentina.

In turn, FremantleMedia will represent all entertainment formats created by Kapow outside of Argentina, with an initial focus on the hit cooking format Cocineros. The companies previously partnered on the Mexican version of Cocineros Mexicanos, which FremantleMedia Mexico produces for Azteca TV.

Kapow will report directly into Sangeeta Desai, FremantleMedia’s group COO and CEO of emerging markets, and work closely with Coty Cagliolo, the managing director of FremantleMedia Mexico.

Desai said: “We have been looking for an entry point into the Argentinian market for a while in order to strengthen our position in this important Latin American market. We believe Kapow are the right partner for us because they are highly creative and entrepreneurial, and we were impressed by Agustín and Lucas and their achievements with Cocineros and other formats.”

Cagliolo said: “As a native Argentinian myself, I am very excited that Agustín and Lucas are helping us to access this important market and I look forward to working closely with them to develop the Fremantle slate in Argentina.”
