The format Dream Houses, distributed by Global Agency, has been optioned by Critical Content for the U.S. and U.K. markets.

Dream Houses was created by the French indie Viva La Vida, which is co-owned by Hervé Hubert, who has produced more than 6,000 episodes of game shows, reality series and entertainment in France. The format, which combines real estate and game-show elements, debuted in Belgium on RTL TVI last month.

Anthony Meunier, president of Viva La Vida and creator of the format, said: “I’m thrilled that the market gives such a great answer to this unique format that we launched during last MIPCOM and very excited to work with the talented teams of Critical Content for the U.S. and U.K. Dream Houses is a very feel-good format that gives a new game-show twist to the real estate territory. It’s a lighthearted show for the whole family, where you have fun watching ordinary couples enjoying an amazing day in an incredibly beautiful house, testing amenities that they didn’t know existed and playing price-guessing games to win clues about the price of the property. The format is totally scalable and a perfect answer to all broadcasters looking for commercial target-oriented shows.”
