SHANGHAI: The Star China-produced format Infinite Challenge is set to premiere on CCTV-1 in China this month.

Infinite Challenge is a hybrid format from MBC in Korea that features unscripted segments. It will debut on CCTV-1 on November 22 at 8 p.m. On the show, six celebrity participants face a range of surprise challenges, and the Chinese version will incorporate tasks related to social issues. Sixty members of the MBC Korea team are involved in the production of China’s Infinite Challenge, including cameramen, scriptwriters, and members of the lighting and post-production crews.

“Star China is very excited and pleased to produce Infinite Challenge for CCTV-1, with the cooperation of our Korean colleagues from MBC,” said Iris Xia, the deputy general manager of Star China Media. “This new kind of formatted program is a great experiment for Star China, which is already known for producing several hit formats, including The Voice of China, the number one rated show for 13 weeks straight this fall. We are confident that Infinite Challenge will rise to the success level of TVOC, perhaps even surpassing it!”

“Several aspects, from the format to production, have been amended and upgraded; China’s version is almost a brand-new show,” added Chen Di the director of Infinite Challenge. “The Chinese version differs from the Korean show in that it only partially adapts the concept and a few segments of the original show.”
