Block Out, a new game-show format that Nippon TV developed with Red Arrow Studios, is set for local versions in Vietnam and Indonesia.

QV Media is creating the adaptation of the series for VTV in Vietnam, while PT Cakrawala Andalas Televisi is behind the format for ANTV in Indonesia. Both versions are slated to start airing this November. The Thai adaptation of Block Out from Zense Entertainment started airing on Channel 7 in July.

In each episode of Block Out, two teams of four players battle it out in a variety of physical games, combining trivia, strategy and chance. Each team plays on a separate identical wall comprised of more than 100 giant blocks, which are pushed out in a variety of combinations and speeds, forcing contestants into crazy positions to try and avoid being knocked down into the pit below. The team who keeps the most players on the ledge for the longest wins the game.

Red Arrow Studios International has worldwide rights for Block Out. Nippon TV distributes Block Out in Asia.

Atsushi Sogo, president of international business development at Nippon TV, said: “We are delighted to announce the Vietnamese and Indonesian adaptations of Block Out, just a few months after its smashing success in Thailand. Proving that this hilarious yet thrilling studio game-show format can grab the hearts of viewers across the globe in this multi-platform era, Block Out is sure to become a hit in Vietnam and Indonesia.”
