all3media international has extended its partnership with Reed MIDEM to bring its Formats Pitch to MIP Cancun this year.

The regional pitching competition is for creators and producers of new non-scripted entertainment format concepts. This LatAm-focused pitch builds on all3media international’s existing collaboration for the Asia Television Forum Formats Pitch.

The MIP Cancun Formats Pitch will see the winning format receiving a cash and consultancy prize package and the opportunity to partner with all3media international in developing the format for pitching to global broadcasters.

Taking place in Asia since 2016, the event is designed to facilitate the exchange of ideas and talent between the global TV community and locally based producers. The announcement follows the first local commission of XTREME Media’s sports-themed format Hit It, winner of the inaugural 2016 ATF Formats Pitch, with an eight-part series for Mediacorp Suria.

Rachel Glaister, executive VP of brands at all3media international, commented, “Working with Reed MIDEM on the Formats Pitch events at MIP and ATF has been most enjoyable and very productive for our profile in EMEA and APAC. We continue our strategy to build our presence in key regional markets and we’re delighted to work once again with the team at Reed MIDEM on presenting this new Formats Pitch at MIP Cancun. The event offers the perfect platform to showcase the best of Latin America’s creative talent and discover ideas that are perfect for export and development within the region and on the international stage.”

Janel Downing, VP of sales for Latin America at all3media international, added, “We are delighted to be supporting young Latin American production talent and creativity through the all3media international Formats Pitch competition. The contest has been incredibly popular with independent producers in Europe and Asia, so it is fitting to bring the opportunity to a region renowned for its entertainment content.”

Ted Baracos, director of MIP Cancun, said, “Stimulating new production relationships is a core part of the MIP Cancun program. We are delighted to launch with all3media international this opportunity for creators from Latin America to pitch new non-scripted entertainment format concepts to decision makers at MIP Cancun 2019.”
