ITV1’s hit daytime quiz show Lingo has been commissioned for a fourth season.

Adil Ray OBE is back as host for the 30 new hour-long episodes. The most recent season, which aired in January 2023, averaged 1.1 million viewers.

New for the fourth season is the addition of a “winner stays on” format. From next year, contestants will get the chance to compete in more than one episode and prove they know their Lingo. Any team that gets to the final round is guaranteed a place on the following episode, giving them the opportunity to accumulate a larger prize pot throughout the series.

The fourth season will start filming this summer and will air in 2024. The third season will continue with new episodes on ITV1 this autumn.

Lingo is an IDTV (All3Media) and Talpa TV format, distributed by All3Media International. It is produced by Triple Brew Media out of Objective Media Group North’s Manchester base.

Ray said, “I’m chuffed to be hosting another series of Lingo! It has become such a special show for young and old and a real test of who can shout at the telly the loudest! To everyone watching and all the team who make the show: T_ _ _ _ you!”

Triple Brew’s Ben Shephard and Ed De Burgh said, “Lingo’s addictive format combined with the brilliance of Adil Ray has made it a staple of ITV1’s daytime schedule. It’s brilliant to see how much viewers enjoy it and, with contestants now having the opportunity to appear on more than one episode, the stakes are higher than ever! We can’t wait to start filming.”
