Gil Formats is set to launch the comedy-competition format Laughing All the Way to the Bank in Cannes this October.

Taking place during a car ride, Laughing All the Way to the Bank will see people who think they’re funny get the chance to win a cash prize while on their way to their bank. They’ll attempt to make the TV channel’s accountant laugh out loud, while the accountant will try to keep a straight face, not laugh and, most importantly, not spend the channel’s money.

Tel Aviv-based Gil Formats also counts among its original formats Pregnant and Platonic, which launched this year on BBC2 and is currently being adapted in Finland by ITV for Nelonen, and Life on Duty, which has aired two seasons on Cuatro in Spain. Gil Productions, meanwhile, has produced the local adaptations of such reality hits as Married at First Sight, Dancing with the Stars, Masterchef, Shark Tank and Come Dine With Me.
