UKTV Channels Launch on Freesat

LONDON: Freesat is set to feature the UKTV channels Yesterday, Drama and Really.

The three channels will become available on the subscription-free satellite TV service later this month. Drama is set to premiere Call the Midwife and the film Captain Webb, while Really will debut Louis Theroux: Behind Bars. Medieval Murder Mysteries will make its channel premiere on Yesterday.

UKTV CEO Darren Childs commented, “We work hard to secure platform deals that give more people our channels, and ultimately grow UKTV’s footprint. Freesat viewers will be able to watch gripping history shows on Yesterday, some of Britain’s finest, critically-acclaimed drama content on Drama, and unbelievable real-life stories on Really. As UKTV continues to invest heavily in new shows, there’s never been a better time to have access to our channels.”

“We are thrilled to boost our offering with the launch of three new entertainment channels from UKTV,” added Freesat’s marketing director, Paul Gilshan. “More than 200 free-to-air TV channels, and more than 60 entertainment channels, are available on Freesat, ensuring viewers are spoilt for choice, without the monthly costs.”
