SPI’s FilmBox Channels to Be Rebranded

WARSAW: Two flagship movie channels from SPI International’s FilmBox portfolio in Poland and Romania are set to be rebranded on September 29.

FilmBox HD will be rebranded FilmBox Extra HD in Poland and Romania, as well as in the countries where it is carried by numerous DTH platforms and cable networks, namely the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and the former Yugo republics. In addition, FilmBox Extra will be renamed FilmBox Premium.

While the names will change, the channels’ profiles will not. FilmBox Extra HD will continue to target viewers who like to watch movies and TV series with high-quality picture and sound. FilmBox Premium will continue to offer new films, including Hollywood blockbusters, film festival winners and European films, shortly after their theatrical release. The channel also features high-budget television series.

Berk Uziyel, the executive director of FilmBox International, explained, “The name change comes as a result of an internal brand review, which indicated the need to clearly distinguish our flagship premium channel (currently called FilmBox Extra) from the other FilmBox brand channels and also to make it easier for our subscribers to navigate within the FilmBox channel offer. The new names allow for clearer identification of content featured on the particular channel.”
