Pier Silvio Berlusconi Named CEO of Mediaset

ROME: The board of directors at Mediaset have elected Pier Silvio Berlusconi as its new deputy chairman and chief executive.

Pier Silvio Berlusconi is the son of Mediaset founder and former Italy prime minister Silvio Berlusconi. He also retains his role as VP of the company.

He is to replace Giuliano Adreani, who has led the company since 2000. Adreani will remain as a Mediaset director and chairman of its advertising unit Publitalia.

Fedele Confalonieri remains president of the group.
