Zodiak Rights Inks Development Deal with CB Films

LONDON: Zodiak Rights has entered into a first-look development agreement with CB Films, an independent production company in the U.K.

Zodiak Rights will be showcasing CB Films' new title The $100,000 Puppy at the upcoming market in Cannes. The program is centered on the world's only dog cloners. It is due to debut as £60,000 Puppy: Cloning Man's Best Friend on Channel 4 in the U.K. on Wednesday, April 9.

Emily Elisha, the head of factual programming at Zodiak Rights, commented: "CB Films are first-class producers with a keen eye for the extraordinary and we are delighted to be in partnership with them. This new film follows a unique competition with a most unusual prize which is certain to get people talking. We are looking to follow the competition process in other markets as well."

Zodiak will also be presenting such tentatively titled productions as The Supervet, CCTV Secrets and Escort Grannies. The former two titles come from Blast! Films, while the latter is produced by Minnow Films. Additional MIPTV highlights include Pernel Media's 4 Babies a Second and Memento Films' The Insider, Aircraft: Exceptional Planes and Blinging Up Baby.

Elisha continued: "Our development partnerships with producers are key for providing a strong yield of brand new quality programming which we can launch at the market and our most recent additions from Blast! Films and Minnow Films are testimony to that. We have also picked up a number of new series which have some exciting access and feel truly global in their reach, for example in The Insider we get to experience life with some of the world's most prestigious military units and in 4 Born a Second we see how lives come into the world via the maternity staff on four different continents."
