ESPN UK Expands Euro Football Slate

LONDON: ESPN has picked up French Ligue 1 broadcast rights for the U.K. and Ireland while also extending its deals for other European football leagues, including Italian Serie A and Germany’s Bundesliga.

ESPN today announced the renewals of Italian Serie A, Eredivisie and the Russian Premier League across TV and digital media. This follows a three-year extension to Bundesliga rights. The broadcaster also recently clinched a deal for more than 25 pre-season friendlies featuring top Barclays Premier League and major European sides.

Jeroen Oerlemans, VP of TV channels for ESPN EMEA, noted, “The addition of France’s Ligue 1 and the renewal of Serie A, Dutch Eredivisie and Russian Premier League means ESPN is the home to the very best domestic league football from across Europe.
