BAFTA Postpones TV Awards Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

BAFTA has decided to postpone the British Academy Television Craft Awards as well as the Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards due to COVID-19.

The British Academy Television Craft Awards had been scheduled to take place on April 26, while the Virgin Media British Academy Television Awards were to be held on May 17. New dates are expected to be announced in the weeks ahead. The announcement of the nominations, originally scheduled for March 26, will also be postponed until closer to the ceremony.

In a statement, BAFTA said: “We are continually monitoring the situation ​to ensure we are prepared for the challenges we may face in the coming weeks and months. We are closely following the advice of the World Health Organisation, NHS and GOV UK/Public Health England, and the safety of our members, guests and staff remains our top priority.”
