Entertainment One (eOne) has hired Christopher Kennedy as development executive for U.K. television, joining from Universal International Studios.

In his new role, Kennedy will oversee development for the studio’s growing original scripted drama slate, with a focus on nurturing strong relationships with top-tier U.K. talent to bring fresh, compelling stories to buyers in Europe and worldwide.

Kennedy will be based in London and report to Sharon Hughff, creative director for scripted television U.K.

“I’m delighted to welcome Christopher to the team,” said Hughff. “With his impeccable taste and strong talent relationships, he’s the perfect addition to our growing development team as we look to boost our presence in the U.K. and attract the region’s best and brightest creatives to bring impactful stories to the U.K. market and beyond.”

“From my very first meeting, I was immediately drawn to Sharon’s creative conviction, her championing of bold and diverse storytellers and her clear vision for eOne in the U.K. and Europe,” said Kennedy. “I’m thrilled to join such a talented team as we look to propel eOne’s U.K. scripted business to exciting new heights.”
