RTL Deutschland and Paramount Global Content Distribution have expanded their licensing agreement, providing series for RTL+ and free-to-air channels for German premieres.

The package deal includes several German premieres, including adventure series Dan Brown’s The Lost Symbol. Adapted from best-selling author Dan Brown’s novel of the same name, the series will have its German premiere on RTL+ later this year.

RTL+ will continue to expand its offering for younger and female audiences in particular by carrying other shows such as the sci-fi series 4400 and the comedy Made for Love.

The German premiere of CSI: Vegas, the sequel to the global hit CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, on VOX extends the long-standing cooperation on the CSI franchise.

Starting on May 1, classic Star Trek series (Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Enterprise) will be available for streaming on RTL+.

Users of RTL Deutschland’s streaming service can currently access all seasons of the 1980s cult soap Dynasty and hit Showtime series Dexter.

Henning Tewes, managing director of RTL and VOX and co-managing director of RTL+, said: “We want to inspire audiences with our content, which is why we’re making a concerted effort to expand our range of streaming and TV content. Expanding our long-running cooperation with Paramount will allow us to offer our viewers even more top-class international series in the future. That’s why we’re very much looking forward to continuing our collaboration with Paramount.”

Lisa Kramer, president of international television licensing at Paramount Global Content Distribution, said: “We could not be more pleased to expand our relationship with RTL Deutschland. What began with the launch of the CSI franchise over 20 years ago continues with CSI: Vegas and beyond. We are so very pleased to be part of RTL Deutschland’s success story.”
