Fremantle Finland has promoted Jarkko Luoma, previously head of development and sales, to CEO.

Luoma has been at Fremantle Finland since 2019. He has 24 years of experience in the TV industry in Finland, including 12 years as head of development and executive producer at Moskito Television Oy and nine years as a producer with Van Der Media Oy.

Luoma takes over as CEO after Joonas Hytönen, who has decided to step down.

Daniela Matei, CEO of Fremantle Nordics and Poland, commented: “Both as a creative and as a team leader, Jarkko is capitalizing on a wealth of experience accumulated over decades in the industry. I am looking forward to working closely with Jarkko in his new position as we continue to build Fremantle Finland into the place the best creatives want to call home.”

Luoma said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to begin this next chapter in a new role. These are exciting times for us storytellers and content makers since our industry is in a fast change. We’ll continue bringing to the screens shows from Fremantle’s vast catalog of best entertainment formats but also keep nurturing it by developing new ones. Together with Fremantle Finland’s super crew, we will continue to produce irresistible entertainment for our clients, be they broadcasters or platforms, and, ultimately, for all viewers out there.”
