A+E Networks and MCD Medya Pazarlama Hizmetleri have revealed that after three years on the air, the Lifetime channel is no longer broadcasting in Turkey.

During its three-year run, the channel has reached many of its targets in Turkey under the leadership of Esra (Oflaz) Güvenkaya. The decision to end the broadcast was made because of macroeconomic factors that have had an adverse effect on the channel in Turkey.

A+E’s co-executive managing director, Patrick Vien, stated: “The Lifetime channel in Turkey has had many successes in a short three-year period. We would like to congratulate our partner Esra Oflaz Güvenkaya for her efforts to make these results a reality. We would like to emphasize our pride in the achievements of our women-targeted channel that have been accomplished under the leadership of Esra, who has empowered women in Turkey for many years. Going forward we will be glad to explore new collaborations.”

Güvenkaya, MCD Medya’s president, said: “We would like to state that we are very happy as well for the collaboration, and the success of the collaboration, that we have made with a strong partner like A+E, which is a major company in the global media world. We have been a part of a global family and we did great work together. We are very proud of the success it accomplished. We will always be open to new collaborations.”
