The Swedish submission of the drama/comedy series We Got This! has been selected as the winner of the Series Mania Project Award at this year’s Co-Pro Pitching Sessions, part of the European Project and Talent Forum, the industry arm of the Series Mania Festival.

The five-member jury featured Christophe Riandee, vice CEO of Gaumont; Piv Bernth, CEO of Apple Tree Productions; Damien Couvreur, creative executive for international originals at Netflix; Nacho Manubens, director of content at Atresmedia Studios; and Anne Mensah, head of drama at Sky UK. Together, they presented Schiaffino Musarra from Jarowskij with a check for €50,000 to help finance the development for We Got This!

Riandee said: “While all of the pitches were of very high quality this year, we selected We Got This! Schiaffino Musarra from Jarowskij was able in just 10 minutes, thanks to a brilliant pitch, describe characters that were gripping and a storyline that was compelling. Couple this with the fact that dark comedy is often harder to produce than drama, we unanimously voted for We Got This! and are delighted to award him with the €50,000 prize.”

Laurence Herszberg, founder and general director of Series Mania, added: “Now in its sixth year, the Forum has become known as the ‘springboard for the series of tomorrow’ and is the place in Europe to connect the creative international community with TV series executives. We were thrilled by the quality of projects this year and the tremendous turnout we have received in Lille. I am proud to congratulate the team from We Got This! for this tremendous honor. The prize of €50,000 once again reinforces our goal of giving a significant financial boost to the development of the winning project.”
