Gaumont is continuing to grow the reach of its European division with plans to open a U.K. hub, which will be led by Alison Jackson.

Jackson, who will serve as president, has been an executive producer at Kudus since 2007. She is currently executive producing season two of Tin Star for Kudos and will continue in this role until she officially joins Gaumont in August. Jackson will be reporting to Christophe Riandee, Gaumont’s vice CEO.

The unveiling of the London-based Gaumont U.K. follows last week’s announcement that Gaumont Germany is set to open on July 1, with Sabine de Mardt serving as president.

“The opening of our U.K. and German divisions signifies the continued expansion of Gaumont and are instrumental to our plan of developing and producing TV dramas in select territories around the world,” commented Sidonie Dumas, CEO of Gaumont.

“The U.K. has a rich heritage in creating exceptional dramas that travel the world, and with Alison’s infectious passion for television drama, as well as her ability to tap into the deep resource of well-established and emerging talent, this market will also be a key driver for new content for Gaumont outside of the U.S., France and Germany,” added Riandee.

“With the demand for high-end scripted dramas at an all-time high, and with the incredible reputation of industry leader Gaumont, the oldest film company world, this is an exciting opportunity to work with some of the best talent in the U.K. and tell bold, ambitious, emotional stories that we are passionate about,” commented Jackson. “Kudos is a wonderful company, producing amazing work and staffed by a group of hugely talented people so it was a hard decision to leave, but I’m incredibly excited about this new opportunity.”
