Me+You Productions has signed a deal that sees BBC Worldwide handling the distribution for the Karl Pilkington scripted comedy series Sick of It.

Produced by Me+You and Pilkington’s indie Alrite Productions, the 6×30-minute scripted series follows Pilkington after he loses his long-term girlfriend and finds himself living with his elderly American Auntie. It is set to air on Sky 1 in the U.K. later this year. The show is directed by Richard Yee and written by Pilkington and Yee.

Jonathan Blyth, BBC Worldwide’s commercial director for comedy, said: “We’re thrilled to be back in business with Karl and Me+You Productions, and further build on our burgeoning relationship. With past successes like An Idiot Abroad and The Moaning of Life, we’re looking forward to making Sick of It a global hit. We think international audiences will love it and they won’t be… well, ‘Sick of It’.”

Krishnendu Majumdar, co-founder of Me+You Productions and executive producer of Sick of It, said: “BBC Worldwide’s endorsement is not only a testament to the quality of the show’s writing, talent and universal themes plus the brilliance of Karl Pilkington playing two roles but also of its international potential.”
