Drive, a production-funding and distribution company led by Lilla Hurst and Ben Barrett, has appointed Tigress Productions and Channel 5 alum Lulu Prutton as acquisitions and sales executive.

In her newly created position, Prutton will concentrate on sourcing content for Drive’s recently launched distribution business, as well as collaborating with the company’s founders to secure projects that require presales and co-production financing. She will work alongside Laura Masson, head of sales, focusing on the Middle East, Africa, Central Europe and the Baltics.

Prutton joins Drive from New Earth Films, where she served as commercial and creative manager. She started her career at BBC Bristol. She has also worked for indies Brook Lapping and Tigress, and in acquisitions at Channel 5, where she landed such hits as Megastructures and Meerkat Manor.

Barrett, joint managing director of Drive, remarked: “Lulu is one of those rare breeds of people who have great creative and commercial experience, which is a massive asset in our business. In her previous roles she’s proven she has a great sense of what works both in the U.K. and internationally, and we’re delighted she has chosen to bring that expertise to Drive.”

Prutton added: “I’m delighted to be joining Drive at such an exciting time for the company and look forward to working with Ben, Lilla and the team to further build Drive’s relationships with U.K. and international production companies.”
