LUND: Anagram is opening up shop in Norway, with a new production venture initially focused on drama.

The company has tapped Anne Kolbjørnsen to serve as managing director for Anagram Norway and Ole Marius Araldsen as the creative director. Both execs are joining the company from Rubicon, part of the Endemol Shine Group, where they worked as head of drama and head of development, respectively.

Anagram has produced series such as Strongman (SVT), 30 Degrees in February (season two, SVT), Halfway to Heaven (TV4), Viva Hate (SVT) and The Gynecologist in Askim (SVT). Anagram Norway will be established on January 1, 2017.

“The establishment in Norway is part of our strategy to expand in the Nordic region,” said Mats Alders, the CEO of Anagram. “In recent years, Norwegian drama series have been hugely successful in the Nordic region as well as internationally. The Nordic region is our home market and a stronger Nordic base will also facilitate international sales.”

“We are looking forward to building up the Norwegian operations and to work together with all the fantastically capable and creative people at Anagram,” added Kolbjørnsen. “We share the same culture and values and can see great synergies within development, production and sales of innovative and high-quality content for digital and traditional platforms.”

“The tremendous competence of Anne and Ole Marius in drama will help strengthen the entire Anagram Group,” said Alders.
