Yellow Film Names Chief Creative Officer

HELSINKI: Finnish production outfit Yellow Film & TV has tapped ex-YLE exec Olli Tola as its chief creative officer.

The appointment of Tola, former head of drama acquisition at the Finnish broadcaster, is part of the company’s efforts to focus more on the international market.

“We see Mr. Tola’s recruitment as an integral part of Yellow Film & TV’s international strategy where CEO Olli Haikka and head of drama and international development, Petja Peltomaa, will be able to focus more effort on our international projects and Tola will be responsible for the domestic fiction projects,” said COO Milla Bruneau.

The company’s dramedy hit Downshifters has been optioned for Swedish and American versions while a second season is in the works for Finland. Its hit medical drama Nurses, meanwhile, has been remade for TV4 in Sweden. The Swedish version has been sold to Denmark and Norway. Nurses has also been optioned in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Belgium.
