black-ish Lands on Channel 4’s E4

LONDON: Channel 4 has acquired the U.K. broadcast rights for ABC Studios’ hit comedy black-ish, which is slated to premiere on E4 this month.

The Emmy-nominated series stars Anthony Anderson, Tracee Ellis Ross and Laurence Fishburne. Anderson portrays Andre “Dre,” a man who feels he has lost touch with his roots and sets out to teach his children about their heritage. Channel 4 picked up the U.K. broadcast rights from Disney UK and Ireland.

black-ish was written by Kenya Barris, who also serves as an executive producer. Additional executive producers are Larry Wilmore, Anderson, Fishburne, Helen Sugland, Tom Russo, Brian Dobbins, Peter Principato, Paul Young and James Griffiths, who directed the pilot. black-ish is produced by ABC Studios and airs on ABC in the U.S.
