LONDON: William Miller, formerly the head of talent at BBC Worldwide, and Ruth Wrigley, who previously served as all3media's head of entertainment and formats, have launched a new independent production outfit, Raconteur Associates.

Raconteur Associates will focus on developing non-scripted programming and formats. Its aim will be on developing and retaining IP, while working with third-party production companies and broadcasters to deliver content that is "innovative, informative and entertaining." The company will initially seek a co-production model for the majority of its projects and will also retain a hands-on executive producer role for each.

Wrigley, Raconteur Associates’ creative director, said: "I am delighted to be working alongside William. His idea for Raconteur appealed because my real strength and experience is creating and producing big shows that are groundbreaking and innovative. Our pooled talent and experience is unlike any other out there and we are able to offer the broadcasters something they can't get elsewhere. William is my perfect TV husband!"

Miller added: “There has clearly never been a better time to be in the content business, especially if you can create and own the ideas, partner with the talent and work with a wide range of creative production companies to help deliver your ideas in ways that you might not as a standalone start-up indie. Joining forces with Ruth, who has to be one of the most exciting creatives in the business, puts us in a unique position to build a really broad business around this unique and previously under-exploited model.”
