LONDON: The BBC iPlayer, which has been available on devices such as Roku and Chromecast, has finally launched on Apple TV in the U.K.

The dedicated app rolled out in time for the holidays. It features a 30-day window for catch-up content, plus streaming of shows from BBC One, Two, Three and Four. Programming available on the iPlayer includes the exclusive Luther: The Journey So Far, Star Wars at the BBC, EastEnders: Back to Ours, Danny Dyer and Kellie Bright, The Voice UK: Meet the Coaches and Matt Berry Does… Happy New You.

Dan Taylor-Watt, the head of BBC iPlayer, said: “Christmas is a popular time for viewers to come to BBC iPlayer, as they unwrap new devices and browse and discover the BBC’s fantastic Christmas programs. With the launch of iPlayer on new Apple TV, I’m delighted we’ve been able to give people another way of accessing the full breadth and range of BBC programs. And the updates to our mobile and tablet apps mean we can now deliver more personalized recommendations of BBC programs to viewers, as well as the ability to stream BBC Store purchases directly from the iPlayer app.”
