Viasat Film Hits is being offered in three Scandinavian territories and Finland. The channel will offer The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 1, Tootsie, Marie Antoinette, Børning and Braveheart.

Jakob Mejlhede Andersen, MTG's executive VP and head of programming and content development, commented: "Viasat Series and Viasat Film Hits strengthen our proposition, showcasing the most talked about, the most desirable and the best-loved content on the market. We have listened to our customers and hope that they will be as excited about these new channels—and the fantastic new shows on them—as we are."

In addition to the launch of Viasat Series and Viasat Film Hits, Viasat Film will now be known as Viasat Film Premiere, and Viasat Nature's prime-time schedule will be extended and replace Viasat Crime, with hit crime shows broadcasting on Viasat Series and Viaplay.

The channels will be available to all subscribers of the Viasat Film package, while the individual shows and movies will be offered to all Viaplay subs. Customers with a premium subscription to the Viasat satellite platform get Viaplay as part of their service.

Mejlhede Andersen added: "Great content deserves easy access, which is why we make all content available on Viaplay, so consumers get real choice in how to access their entertainment."
