UNTERFÖHRING: Sky Deutschland is set to roll out in October an entire HD channel dedicated to the James Bond film catalogue.

The launch of the channel, which will be called Sky 007 HD, marks the first time the complete library of Bond films will be broadcast uninterrupted, and optionally with the original soundtrack, in Germany and Austria. The network is due out October 5 and will be available to Sky customers until December 6. Featured titles will include all the films produced by Albert R. Broccoli’s EON Productions and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) Studios, such as Dr. No and Skyfall, as well as the two non-EON titles Casino Royale (the 1967 version) and Never Say Never Again.

Additionally, all EON movies will be available on demand on Sky Anytime and Sky Go.

Gary Davey, the managing director of Content Sky and executive VP of programming at Sky Deutschland, stated, “Experiencing this iconic franchise in a way that German viewers never have been able to before was our mission when we made plans to create a dedicated channel devoted entirely to James Bond. We’re excited that our customers will have the best Bond movie-watching experience ever: uninterrupted, in HD, on demand and on the go.”

“James Bond is one of the most iconic characters in entertainment history and we are delighted to continue our outstanding partnership with Sky Deutschland,” said Chris Ottinger, the president of international television distribution and acquisitions at MGM. “Their innovation and dedication to the Bond franchise is unmatched and we are thrilled to have Sky 007 HD deliver these classic films to new and old audiences.”
