NEW YORK: SPI International has acquired a number of first- and second-run movies from Freeman for broadcast on FilmBox channels in Hungary and Romania.

Titles involved in the agreement include The Humbling, a dramedy led by Al Pacino; The Homesman, with Tommy Lee Jones and Hilary Swank; and the new film Code of Honor, starring Steven Seagal. The deal gives SPI the broadcast rights for more than 40 movies. FilmBox will begin rolling out the new content in October. The first- and second-run films will air on the FilmBox Premium channel in Hungary and FilmBox Extra in Romania.

"The recently acquired lineup from Freeman will significantly strengthen the competitive edge of our premium FilmBox channels in Hungary and Romania," said Berk Uziyel, the executive director of Filmbox International. "Some of the titles are yet to be released in theaters and we will be proud to present their television premieres on our channels."
