Sweden’s SVT Enters Volume Deal with BBC Worldwide

STOCKHOLM: Swedish pubcaster SVT has secured more than 200 hours of programming from BBC Worldwide, scoring a package that includes the Russell T Davies’ penned Cucumber and Banana.

The spy series The Honourable Woman will premiere on SVT1 in April, as will Kay Mellor’s relationship drama In the Club. Later in the spring, SVT will broadcast the historical drama Wolf Hall. In the way of factual, SVT picked up such programs as Animals and Love, Camp X and Katherine Mills: Mind Games.

"BBC WW is a benchmark for quality television and no other distributor can offer the diversity contained in this package," said Stephen Mowbray, the head of SVT International.
