MADRID/STAMFORD: WWE and Spain’s Atresmedia have renewed their TV distribution agreement and promotional partnership through 2016.

The two entities first partnered in 2013. Since then, the ratings for WWE’s flagship programs Monday Night Raw and SmackDown have more than doubled, leading to the two-year agreement extension for Atresmedia’s channel Neox.

“We are very excited to continue our partnership with WWE, something we started a year ago with a clear plan to build the brand consistently for the future in Spain,” said Jose Antonio Antón, the director of programming and complementary channels for Atresmedia. “The results are already here and we think that WWE together with Atresmedia is a perfect match both for the audience and for the brand strength.”

“WWE is thrilled to extend our partnership with Atresmedia in Spain for another two years,” said Gerrit Meier, the executive VP of international at WWE. “This agreement is a great example of the integrated approach we take with our partners around the world to promote both our television programming and live events to ensure the significant growth of our brand.”
