Sky Deutschland & Warner Bros. Extend, Expand Partnership

UNTERFÖHRING: Sky Deutschland and Warner Bros. International Television Distribution have signed an early extension of their existing multiplatform agreement, adding to it some rights for library titles for nonlinear services.

The long-term contract between the two includes on-demand rights for all current new movies during the pay-TV window, as well as exclusive pay-TV rights for all Warner movies across several platforms. Upcoming highlights include Interstellar, Horrible Bosses 2, Mad Max: Fury Road and Magic in the Moonlight. Content will also be available to subscribers via the nonlinear services Sky Go and Sky Anytime. In addition to current first broadcasting rights, Sky is acquiring the exclusive pay-TV rights for a package of library films, including rights for Sky Go and Sky Anytime.

Gary Davey, the executive VP of programming at Sky Deutschland, said: “Warner Bros. has been one of Sky’s closest and strongest partners for years. In the future, film fans will be able to keep on enjoying the wide-ranging movie offering that is only available on Sky.”
