LONDON: Keshet UK, a division of Keshet International, has made two new senior hires for its creative team in an attempt to boost British production.

Ashley Blaker now joins the team as the head of comedy, while Kevin Mundye has been tapped as head of U.K. formats and global consultant. Blaker has been charged with looking after Keshet’s comedy slate in the U.K., and Mundye will represent and adapt Keshet’s entertainment and factual entertainment formats for U.K. broadcasters. Both will also work alongside Keshet Media Group’s VP of content, Ran Telem, and U.K. Creative Consultant Dave Morley, to develop new original properties for U.K. television.

Blaker most recently worked at John Stanley Productions, where he co-created and co-wrote the forthcoming BBC One series Pompidou. Mundye joins from his recent post as executive producer at Shine Group’s internal formats division, where he was responsible for driving and managing the international rollout of global formats such as Biggest Loser, One Born Every Minute, Got to Dance, Clash of the Choirs and The Face.

Sammy Nourmand, the COO of Keshet UK, said, “I’m looking forward to working alongside Kevin and Ashley and am pleased to welcome them to Keshet. We are committed to building our U.K. operation and will be looking to further ‘beef up’ our creative team in the U.K. over the coming months.”

Blaker commented, “Keshet already has a slate of very funny shows which hold a lot of promise for the U.K. I look forward to developing these for local audiences and adding to them with some homegrown comedy, too.”

Mundye added, “I am thrilled to be joining such a dynamic and talented company as it begins its creative growth in the U.K.”
