STOCKHOLM: Sweden's TV4 Group has hired Josefine Tengblad to serve in the newly created post of head of drama.

Tengblad will have overall responsibility for the film and drama production of the group. Tengblad will also develop commissioning alongside TV4 Group's digital transformation. Previously, Tengblad was working as executive producer for film and drama at TV4 for three years. She previously worked with several Lars von Trier productions and with 23 Wallander films. In 2010, she started her own production company, Lebox.

Åsa Sjöberg, incoming director of content at TV4 Group, said: "I am very pleased that Josefine Tengblad wishes to lead the important work on drama for TV4, at a time when the focus of our own efforts is becoming increasingly important for all platforms. With her background in film, television and theater, Josefine has a broad palette, and also a willingness and forward direction that will be a strong asset and strength for our business in a rapidly changing industry."

Tengblad added: "TV4 has been one of the leading providers of drama for many years, and has greatly contributed to the success of 'Nordic Noir' around the world. Managing and refreshing this heritage, and driving TV4's work with film and drama forward in a new media world is a significant and exciting challenge that requires creativity, the daring to challenge ourselves and the constant renewal of the drama genre since the demand for quality grows among our audience. Exclusivity in the local Swedish arena is incredibly important, and we continue to enhance our efforts here."
